Joe did a absolutely wonderful clinic at the Boston Conservatory! Photo above is (L to R) Joe Tompkins, Keith Aleo and John Grimes. Joe’s class started with a historic explanation of French rudimental drumming as compared to American rudimental drumming. He also played his etude #7, a Lafevre solo and his March. Joe played amazing! I’m a huge fan of Joe’s book, Nine French-American Rudimental Solos, available at Bachovich Publishing:
