JoAnn Falleta and the “Los Mayas” percussion section.

The Day of Percussion was a huge success.   In addition, the concert that night included a program called “Drums on the Niagara” by the Buffalo Philharmonic.  The program included Silvestre Revueltas’ “La Noche de los Mayas” (1939) – with no less than 13 percussionists.   JoAnn Falletta conducted the program.

The Day of Percussion clinicians included Beverly Johnston, Keith Aleo, Buffalo Philharmonic Percussion Section, Tom Freer and the BSC Percussion Ensemble.
