First was the Percussion Studio Recital featuring the Music of Nexus. This concert evolved as I was working with several of my students picking SD solos. I ended up suggesting 3 different pieces from the Nexus Snare Drum Portfolio (LINK: http://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/nexus-portfolio-for-snare-drum/snare-drum-solo). Then, I thought “why not do a concert featuring the entire SD Portfolio Collection!? Plus, finish with Beckers Mudra!” And, that’s exactly what we did – two students did the two final solos and we put it all together on a studio recital – program below. The students played GREAT and I am, (as I always seem to be) extremely proud of them!
Also, over the weekend, the Joint Venture Percussion Duo did a marvelous recital! Truly some of the most artistic playing I’ve ever seen and heard.
