I had a chance to see the NHK Orchestra in Carnegie Hall.    I was able to take photos of some of their instruments.   Amazing SD and some great mallets!   They used many types of mallets – some “Playwood” mallets that were pretty usual for the US.   Also, very short SD sticks.
