I was fortunate to play Michael Burritt’s new composition entitled Streaming, for percussion soloist and percussion ensemble.    This was part of the Eastman Chamber Percussion Ensemble concert on the evening of Feb. 17th.   The students did a marvelous job on the ensemble parts and Mike was there to coach us and bring the piece to life.   In addition, the students played a fantastic concert of extremely challenging and interesting music.

The night of the concert just happened to fall on John Beck’s birthday!    John (or JB as we like to call him) is Professor Emeritus at the school and my former teacher.    Of course, we sang happy birthday before the final piece on the program.
